We are a group of volunteers, united in the mission to give back the health, the future, to the Salvadoran children of limited resources and with different kind of heart diseases and other kind of pathologies and have no hope without surgery and would died in a very short period of time.

Emmerson López Ferrer
24 Years Old

Emerson was given the diagnostic of having the Tetralogia of Fallot when he was 2 years old and doctors told that the child was in a great need of having a surgery that was impossible to have it her in El Salvador.

Alter 7 years of looking for help, she made contact with our Association and it was through Gif of Life – Rotary International that Emerson was sent to St. Vincent Medical Center in Los Angeles, CA where he had his surgery.

He had his surgery 12 years ago and now he is studying his 4th year of medicine at the university U.S.A.M. He wants to become a Pediatric Surgeon Cardiologist, this way, according to his words: “I want to be able to help other children to have the same opportunity I am have had”.

His life has changed after the surgery because he was able to live a normal life as any other kid, with no health limitations. Now he is a young man with a lot of goals, and dreams and this is one of the cases that give us a great incentive to keep going on working on this mission, and to remain making a great effort to help being part of this kind of Ggifts of Life.
